The Titan - 17 July 2022

The Occasional Performing Sinfonia will deliver its mid-season concert  "The Titany" - A Charity Concert on the 17 July 2022,  2:00pm. at the Wenkart Theatre, Knox Grammar School, Wahroonga.

Orchestra members come from city and country. There will be teachers, students, enthusiastic amateur musos and professionals.

Mahler No 1, is full of optimism. We hear his love of nature and beauty, and his childhood memories. Fragments of distant military music, birdsong and Yiddish folk tunes come to his yet untormented mind. Yet, admirable is the journey, where Mahler also takes his audience from the depth of hell, and back to the paradise.

This is a 'must attend' concert for those who love large scale orchestral work.

The Occasional Performing Sinfonia would like to thank all of its guest players for bringing their skill, experience and musicianship to support us. We acknowledge the generous support of Knox Grammar School in the provision of The Wenkart Theatre, all the orchestral equipment and the percussion instruments for this concert, rehearsal facilities, in particular Warren Fisher, for making it possible.
