The Celebration Orchestra
Supporting music education and music therapy for children
TOPS is a Sydney-based orchestra that presents large symphonic works rarely tackled by community orchestras. TOPS plays in venues such as Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall. We also tour regional NSW. In 2020, in response to the global pandemic, we took to the digital platforms to deliver our performances.
Founded in 1992, TOPS is an orchestra of exceptional standing in Sydney classical music communities. TOPS performs a number of concerts each year to thousands of audience. Beyond large scale symphonic works, TOPS also collaborates with other community performing art groups, schools and universities in Sydney as well as regional NSW.
Fundraising with focus on needs of children is a primary remit for TOPS. As the resident orchestra for CSME, TOPS has been integral in raising over $600,000 for the Children Hospital at Westmead in particular the Music Therapy Unit.
