About Celebration Sing Out!
For the past 27 years, up to 1,000 singers aged 8 to 80 have gathered in Sydney Town Hall each October to sing great music and raise funds to support sick children. Over this time, more than $600,000 has been raised for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, in particular the Music Therapy Unit.
YouTube CHOIR and ORCHESTRA
Through the wonders of technology, we broadcasted our Celebration Sing Out! 2020 Online Concert featuring a YouTube choir and orchestra. From Primary Schools, High Schools and the Adult Community across Australia, people came together online to sing, in this special Beethoven year, an 8-minute version of the Ode to Joy from the 9th Symphony, and the traditional carol O Come All Ye Faithful, with options to sing in English, Wiradjuri and German.
In these challenging times, this virtual concert has indeed been music therapy for us all!
Virtual Choir and Symphony Orchestra
For the love of singing and playing we created a virtual concert by bringing together individual or group performance videos and audio recordings to create a joyful and inspiring visual and musical phenomenon. The concert featured school and community choristers, as well as hundreds of individual singers and instrumentalists. All was brought together in a YouTube video, harnessing the power of great music and helping children who are very sick in hospital.
